Our time at Maidenhead Farmers Market
Share
On Sunday 9th November we attended our first farmers market to sell our pork and promote our Christmas Bronze turkeys!
To us this was a trial to see what people thought of our products and whether this is something people would like us to continue….It is safe to say it is!
We arrived early and began setting up, we were neighbours to two amazing businesses, one who sold mushrooms and another who sold curry bases. Both of which joked saying how people could come here and get a whole meal out of our stalls - Mushroom and sausage curry anyone?
The market began at 9:30am, the two of us waiting patiently for our first customer. We had convinced ourselves that no one would buy anything as there were two other meat stands there on the day… However at 9:32 we had our first customer who was so lovely and purchased two packs of sausages from us. From that moment forward we had a steady flow of people trying our sausage tasters, that our lovely friend was handing out, and promptly coming over to us to purchase a pack.
Others would come over to look at the sausages and end up leaving with those plus some ribs or chops. It was a real confidence boost to us and we met so many amazing people.
When the clock hit 13:00 we only had two shoulder joints left to sell which over the course of the following week sold to some very happy customers.
We thoroughly enjoyed the market and are hoping to do it again as soon as we get more of our pork available.
