Our Turkey's
Our Turkeys are hatched in Essex by Kelly Bronze, a third-generation family hatchery renowned for their slow-growing bronze turkeys. They are brought to us as day old poults and we raise them from that moment onwards.

We raise only bronze turkeys, a traditional breed that’s been disregarded by intensive farming.
They’re prized for their rich flavour, classic appearance, and excellent suitability for free-range rearing. To meet the range of weights our customers prefer, we use two bronze strains: ‘Super Mini Specials’ and ‘Roly Polys’.
Our birds have free access to pasture allowing them to peck, perch, run, flap, and just be turkeys. They are slow growing, nearly twice as long as commercial intensively reared turkeys! That extra time allows them to develop intramuscular fat, creating a turkey that’s naturally moist and flavoursome.
We process our birds by dry plucking, this is a more traditional method which is better for the quality of meat. By doing this more care can be taken as each bird is done individually.
You might notice the odd dark feather stub, a natural part of bronze turkeys that supermarkets don’t like. But don't worry, these tiny feathers disappear in the oven and don’t affect cooking or eating.
We hope you enjoy having one of our turkeys as your center piece at Christmas!
